Choose between a simple product and variations
Products do not need variations unless buyers can choose between real options.
Every product is a parent record, but it can stand on its own. Add variations only for real sellable options such as sizes, colors, materials, or bundles. Shared information stays on the product; variation-only differences belong on that variation.
Steps
- 01Open the product and choose Variants.
- 02Add a variation only when the sellable item needs its own name, SKU, or setup.
- 03Use the product defaults and change only what this variation needs.
- 04Archive an old variation when you need to preserve its history.
