What is a PlyOps product record?

A PlyOps product record keeps the information needed to prepare and operate a 3D printed product in one parent record. Variants stay attached to that product instead of becoming duplicate products.

Keep the product and its variants together

A product is the durable parent record. Size, color, material, bundle, and marketplace variation combinations belong underneath it as variants. Switching variants stays inside the product workspace.

This structure keeps shared information in one place while preserving the details that genuinely differ by variant.

  • Duplicate an existing product or variant
  • Assign variant-specific SKUs and dimensions
  • Track active and archived records
  • Review changes in a readable history

Record the details used outside PlyOps

Product records are built for seller work, not for generic inventory accounting. They can hold production files, material choices, packaging, pricing assumptions, marketplace copy, tags, SEO fields, and image alt text alongside normal product details.

  • General and marketplace-specific descriptions
  • Packed and unpacked dimensions
  • Material and packaging assignments
  • Completion checks for missing setup details

Know what the record does not do

PlyOps does not treat a product record as an accounting ledger or a marketplace inventory controller. Marketplace links identify products, variants, listings, and content relationships. They do not silently publish listings or manage live quantities.

Common questions

Are variants separate products?

No. A variant belongs to its parent product and can carry its own SKU, dimensions, material, packaging, weight, notes, and marketplace details where needed.

Can I keep marketplace copy without connecting an account?

Yes. Every plan can store marketplace-specific copy and let you copy individual fields. Connected imports, marketplace-formatted exports, and confirmed listing actions have separate plan and provider boundaries.

What happens to archived products?

Archived products remain in the library, keep their history, and can be found through archive filters and restored later.
